We have added the important 11,695-foot peak “The Catamount”
to the peak list. This peak does not quite have a hard rank, but the dramatic
rock summit, which is located between “Tarryall Peak” and “Lake Park Peak,”
has carried this eloquent nickname for some time. A catamount is a large,
wild, mountain cat.
We have added the spectacular spectacle provided by
Harmonica Arch.
We have added the following Extra Credit to Bison Peak:
Extra Credit - Bison View - Class 2
From the trail junction in Bison Pass at 11,180 feet, hike 0.25 mile west through open trees to
Point 11,380 aka “Bison View.” This open summit offers views of Bison Arm and Bison Peak
to the east, and you can see Peaks X, Y and Z to the northwest. This humble, unranked summit also hosts many
photogenic bristlecone skeletons.
